All track and field athletes, including cyclists, must report to the registration desk beside the Secretary’s caravan (at the ringside) before 12 noon to complete registration details. Once registered to compete, athletes and cyclists must display the Halkirk Games ID number provided. Failure to wear the number may result in disqualification. Failing to register on time may result in not being able to compete.
For the Farmer’s Walk strongman event, competitors must indicate that they wish to enter by informing the Secretary before 3pm on Games day.
For the Piobaireachd competition, entries have to be given to the Secretary before 9pm on the Friday before the Games (28th July). The draw takes place at 10am on Games Day and competitors must be present at the draw. The competition starts at 10.30am.
For other piping competitions entries will be accepted at the two piping rings throughout the day.
Highland Dancers and Clay Pigeon shooters simply report to the relevant steward prior to the first event in their respective section
Entries for the children’s races, novelty events and baby show, are taken as these events are announced. Simply report to the race starter or baby show steward when it is announced. The event times are detailed in the programme (on sale on the day) and the stewards generally stick to these times.
